lunar new year lantern aquarium installation

lunar lantern festival 001

This past weekend Joseph and I went for a late night visit to the grounds of the Art Gallery where a 'lantern aquarium' had been set up in several tents. We didn't go in with high expectations (especially after trying to take in festivities at international village, where there was table after table of cheap useless junk, that had nothing to do with the year of the rabbit) but we were pleasantly surprised, especially because the whole thing was free. Intricate paper cuttings and flickering LED lights really gave the space a neat underwater (albeit industrial) effect and it was a nice way to end our night.
