little nest, i love you

I'm so grateful to have a place like Little Nest Cafe right by where I work. When there is just so much anger and ignorance going on in the world, it's nice to just pop next door and grab something lovingly created to help me get through the day.

Little Nest is a charmingly designed cafe tucked just off Commercial Drive. The decor of this place is like my dream home -- clean, sparse, soft colour here and there, with a real lived-in quality. The true beauty behind the cafe is that it is geared towards families. It's not your average family restaurant -- the kitchen is open, the ingredients are largely organic and the food is hearty and easy on both the kid's and the parent's taste buds. The parents get to sit and relax, enjoying their fancy espresso drinks, not having to worry that their kids are all running around together, shouting and playing with the cafe's toys and books. A really simple concept, where food and family are what's important. It's reassuring to know that such a place exists. (And not at all surprising that a woman thought of it)
