mature flowers

One of the frustrating parts about being a florist is having to deal with people who don't understand that flowers are unique. I happen to think that it is the variance and the imperfections, and the very unpredictability of flowers that make them so beautiful. Some flowers are always going to look like they are 'old' even when they are fresh from being picked -- that just happens to be the way they look. I understand not wanting to buy a flower once it has already begun to open as I too like to bring home the freshest flowers possible, but surely you can see the exquisiteness of a fully bloomed flower? Surely you understand that flowers are meant to open up? Oh forget it. I can continue to take home the mature flowers if that's the way you want it.
